Biography

Filament is an artistic lighting and projection company based in Newcastle. By bridging the gap between artists and technicians, we aim to produce highly creative work with light and moving imagery, using innovative technology in new and exciting ways.

We are equally skilled at creating our own stand-alone work or producing unique lighting/production for exciting one off events.

We have been working together formally for two years following a realisation that we had similar wishes to find a more creative output for our skills and knowledge.

Although Filament is a fledgling entity, it sprang from a long history of its founding members working together in a multitude of roles and environments; from this has grown a common wish to create fun and exciting immersive visual environments.

Steve Holmes

Steve is an AV Artist/designer, he works through content development, system design, installation and management of AV systems for Art installations, music events, theatre, and large scale outdoor events.

Neil Colebeck

Neil has been a Lighting Designer for the last 20 years; working through all areas of the industry: music, circus, theatre, conference and large scale outdoor events. Neil’s skills are varied and his approach very hands on.

Dan Adams

Dan started as a lighting engineer at the age of 14, and having worked through being a sound engineer, AV technician, rigger and stage manager Dan now works as a Technical Designer for cultural events and Art installations.
